What are some things that you do to keep yourself on track with achieving your wellness goals?
I’ve done just about anything you could think of. I’ve used daily planners, monthly planners, put workout reminders in my phone, make countless to-do lists that included wellness activities, and even relied on my memory to help me stay on track with my wellness goals. While some of these have been helpful for a certain phase in my life, none of them have been consistent with helping me remain accountable.
For a while I engaged in wellness activities by simply doing things in the spare of the moment. For example, if I had extra time during the day to squeeze in a yoga session, I would do it, but I did not have a daily wellness routine in place. While this did help me keep my mind, body, and spirit active and engaged, it did not provide me with the discipline needed in order to remain consistent. As a result, my wellness journey over the years have been a hit and miss.
I’ve had good days and bad days. Successful months and months when I could have done better. Which ultimately means I have many moments when I have come close to achieving my wellness goals but there was always a slip up of some kind to throw me off track. In spite of the ups and downs I’ve had with my wellness journey I’ve never given up on reaching my goals.
Flash forward to today and I am going back to my roots of wellness tracking, but with a little twist!
For the first time ever, I decided to invest in a fit planner to help me remain consistent with my wellness routine, and as a way to hold myself accountable with achieving my wellness goals. I have never used a fit planner before. So far what I love the most about it is the fact that it is a combination of a wellness tracking system that I am use to, and a wellness tracking system to help me further expand my wellness goals.
So, let’s crack this baby open and get into it. I’m going to share with you what I love about this fit planner and how I am using it to achieve my wellness goals this year.
Using the Blogilates 2024 Fit Planner
The Basics
First things first, this fit planner is designed to literally help you stay on track with your wellness goals for the entire year! I find this to be very easy because it saves you time on trying to figure out a system that makes sense to track your wellness activities. Instead, everything you will need to succeed this year is all in one place, broken down not only by months, but also weekly for every month.
The next best thing about this fit planner is that at the beginning of every month there is a section completely dedicated to what your personal wellness goals are for that month. This section is where you will set a goal, track a habit you want to start or stop, keep track of your monthly cycle, and even your measurements. This helps you visually see how well you are doing with getting closer to your wellness goals, where you are being consistent with your routine/habits, and areas where you may need some improvement.
Even though we are only a full week into the new year I am absolutely finding this section of the fit planner to be extremely helpful. I’m able to keep track of my daily habit which is perfectly aligned with my goal for the month. And while I did not fill out the bottom section this month, I’m looking forward to being able to implement it next month.
Workout Planner
Now, this section is where you fill in your workouts for the week (Monday – Sunday). I have broken my workout sessions for wellness activities to do in the morning and wellness activities to do in the evening. Each activity is specifically written out so that I know exactly what workout I will be doing and there is no guess work for that day.
To fill in my workouts for the week I also use a monthly workout calendar that I like to follow along to. I usually get my FREE workout calendar from Blogilates.com who provides this every month with workouts to do for every single day of the month. Then I just plug in workouts for the number of days on the calendar into the day of the week in my fit planner. This helps me stay on track with what wellness activity I am doing for each day and ensures that I am targeting all areas of my physical health.
Some bonus tools with this section are the workout intensity bar for each day and a simple grocery list for some things you may need to power through the week. The workout intensity bar is a great way to be able to track how much you are pushing yourself in your workouts (no pain no gain)! I’m averaging at about a 3. Currently I use the grocery list to make notes of snacks that I need to get to fuel myself throughout the week. My go-to is fruit!
Daily Schedule
Last but not least this fit planner is also designed to help you see what your day will look like on a week-to-week basis. It has a to-do list to keep track of important things that need to get done for the day. It also even has a short little meal planner section where you can write out all the foods you are planning to have for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even your snacks.
Currently I fill this in as I go. However, as work slows down, I will be returning back to meal planning and having these sections completed in the near future.
There is also a notes section for you to be able to take down any notes you may need. I love that there is a space to keep track of the number of hours you are sleeping each night. This is extremely important because sleep plays such a huge part in our overall health. If we are not getting at least 8 hours of sleep a night (or reasonable rest nightly) it may be harder to not only achieve our wellness goals, but also to feel and see any positive results.
There is also a small space to keep track of how much water you are drinking daily. Water is also such an important part of our health. It helps to flush all the bad toxins out of our bodies, it keeps our bodies hydrated, it’s good for our skin and hair, and it even helps with digestion.
Also, if portion control is something your struggle with, drinking plenty of water throughout the day can help you feel fuller so that you are eating less throughout the day, and healthier portions when you do eat.
Bonus
A bonus to this fit planner is the weekly challenges that can be found throughout the entire fit planner for every week. These challenges are simple daily positive habits that really can make all the difference in your life. These challenges are never anything complicated or impossible to do, and always something very short and quick that really requires very little effort, if any at all.
I’d also like to mention that this fit planner also doubles as a monthly planner. While it is not pictured here, there is a section with the entire month available to you with blank spaces to fill in important events and reminders happening throughout the month. Just like you would a regular monthly planner.
There area also a few other goodies with this fit planner but I won’t spoil it all now. I’ll keep those to myself and save them for another day 😊.
And that’s pretty much it! While this is my first time using a fit planner to achieve my wellness goals, I do have to admit that I am very happy and pleased with what I have been able to accomplish so far. It really is the best wellness tracking system I have ever come across, and I love that it’s super easy to use!
Let me know if you are currently using the Blogilates 2024 Fit Planner, or maybe you have used one in the past? Maybe you’re interested in giving it a try for yourself? Either way share with me your thoughts and personal experience (if any). I’d love to hear a little bit of your wellness story.
Until next time!
